Hundreds of children in Eastern Connecticut are removed from their homes every year due to abuse and neglect.

They are usually removed from their home communities as well, due to a shortage of local foster homes.

Imagine how incredibly difficult this is for a child...

The availability of more local foster homes will allow more children in care to stay in their home towns, stay in their schools, and stay connected to their friends, teachers, teammates and other significant people from their communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assure that all children needing out-of-home placement grow and thrive in stable, consistent, and loving homes in their own communities.

Hearts, Hands and Homes is a federally funded collaborative of regional organizations dedicated to establishing more foster and adoptive families in eastern Connecticut. The program is administered by the City of Norwich.
